In home construction wood and plastic plays an important role. Wood is helps in adorning home furnishing. Woods comes from all parts of the world. Wood is a local raw material which is used for religious, historical and artistic works. The wood is very valuable, because it can not be matched by any other. The best grains and textures come from old trees. The trees which are unproductive for fruits is mostly used in making furniture or other wooden accessories. The wood is heavy, dense and durable with distinctive colors. If we talk about plastic then it is used in various modes. Few examples are like wires & cable while construction of house, in doctors instrument at medication, home furnishing (plastic table, chair, bathroom accessories, kitchen accessories), and many more. The manufacturers are dependable on plastic to save money on packaging. Plastics also help to conserve energy in your home. Vinyl siding and windows help cut energy consumption and lower heating and cooling bills. 

Plastic has replaced the traditional material as packing and carry bags because of cost and convenience which is possibly a wrong choice of material for such use. Even though plastic bags can preserve food and can be used for growing vegetables in a controlled environment, their method of disposal has creates unprecedented pollution problem. You can say this is a drawback of plastic material.

Plastic bags are not environment friendly. It damages the environment. A single plastic bag can take up to 1000 years, to decay completely. This makes the bags stay in environments longer, in turn leading to great build-up on the natural landscape (much more than degradable materials like paper). In other words, the more plastic bags you use, the greater the chances of environmental damage. But plastic is widely used in home construction without any harmful effect.
